Information You Send
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered into a search form are sent to the independent provider that supplies the result flow. Our servers do not retain a copy of those queries. If you contact us, we receive the information in the message and use it to respond.
Automatically Collected Data
Hosting systems may create routine logs such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We review aggregate technical information to operate and protect the service. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement.
How Data Is Used
Any information described here is used to run, secure, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the service. We do not sell a visitor list or create an individual visitor profile from the records-reference pages.
Outside Services and Links
The pages link to City of White Plains, Westchester County, New York State, court, library, archive, and search-provider services. A destination’s privacy policy governs information submitted there, including information entered into sponsored search results. Review the destination’s notice before submitting data.
Service Providers
Hosting, analytics, and advertising providers may process the automatic technical data needed to support their service. We disclose information if a valid legal process requires it and otherwise do not share contact information except as described here.
Keeping Data Safe
The service uses encrypted connections where available and retains logs only for the operational purposes described above. There are no White Plains Residents Directory passwords or account profiles for visitors to manage on this service.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly seek personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has sent personal information, and we will review and delete it where appropriate.
Your Privacy Choices
You may ask about personal information in our contact mailbox or applicable logs through the Contact page. New York’s SHIELD Act, General Business Law §§899-aa and 899-bb, concerns breach notification and reasonable safeguards. It is not a general deletion right for correct public records. Public records held by the City of White Plains, Westchester County, New York State, courts, libraries, or archives are controlled by their custodians. Requests under New York FOIL, Public Officers Law art. 6, §§84–90, concern existing agency records and do not amend a deed, court case, or vital record.
Policy Updates
We may revise this notice by posting an updated version here. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
