1. Nature of This Service
White Plains Residents Directory is a private reference that describes and links to records, rolls, indexes, and historical collections relevant to White Plains, New York. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with the City of White Plains, Westchester County, New York State, a court, library, archive, or other custodian.
2. Permitted Use
Use the service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it or information reached through it to:
- Stalk, threaten, harass, intimidate, or harm another person.
- Attempt to locate a person whose address is protected by law or order.
- Commit fraud, identity theft, impersonation, or another unlawful act.
- Make a credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or other FCRA-regulated decision.
- Scrape, reproduce, or republish site content at scale.
- Interfere with the service, its security, or another user’s access.
3. No Consumer Reports
We are not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. This service and linked tool results are not consumer reports and may not be used to determine eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the FCRA.
4. External Services
Government portals, library collections, archives, and sponsored tools have their own availability, terms, prices, and privacy practices. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, results, data practices, or continued operation.
5. No Warranties
The service is offered as is and as available. We make no warranty that its content is accurate, complete, current, available, or suitable for a particular use, or that an external source will return a result.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages resulting from use of this service or an external resource, including decisions made from a record reference.
7. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, damages, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from your misuse of the service or breach of these terms.
8. Content Rights
Original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page or quoting a brief attributed excerpt is permitted. Republishing full pages or systematically copying the content is prohibited.
9. Term Changes
We may change these terms by posting a revised version. Use after the posting date constitutes acceptance of the revision.
10. Access Restrictions
We may suspend, block, or limit access without notice when we reasonably believe a user has violated these terms or abused the service.
11. New York Law
New York law governs these terms without applying conflict-of-law rules. New York FOIL, Public Officers Law art. 6, §§84–90, applies to existing agency records under its own procedures and exemptions. It does not grant this private reference the authority to disclose, alter, or certify a custodian record.
12. Severability
If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain effective.
